Chaka Cumberbatch, also fondly known as Princess Mentality Cosplay, is Southern, sassy, real damn classy – and is never without red lipstick.

She’s a superhero cosplayer, social media manager and freelance journalist based in Dallas-Fort Worth, where she is always hunting down her next story.

Her work, which often zeroes in on race, gender and sexuality issues within the geek community, has been published on sites such as XOJane, The Mary Sue and Refinery29.

Chaka is also the founder of #28DaysOfBlackCosplay; an empowering movement which casts a positive spotlight on black cosplayers across the globe during the month of February on an annual basis.

She also serves as co-host on Black Girl Nerds, a weekly geek girl powered podcast.

AnimeKon fans of Chaka can expect, not only a dazzling array of cosplay awesomeness over the weekend, but also in-depth panels and discussions on black cosplay and matters that affect geeks in the LGBTQ community.

Don’t miss your chance to meet Chaka aka Princess Mentality Cosplay in person at AnimeKon VII: Quantum Age on August 27th and 28th in Barbados!

Until then, you can find her tweeting about cartoons, costumes, cocktails and cosmetics at @princessology or on Facebook at Princess Mentality Cosplay (http://www.facebook.com/PrincessMentalityCosplay).

Tickets for the show are on sale now!
